The brief
Nacre is a made-up brand: a concept by Risendune, to show what a fragrance launch site can feel like. Its name is mother-of-pearl, the iridescent lining of a shell, and the site is built round that idea of light laid down in layers.
The approach
The page is one scroll story, drawn live in WebGL.
- Tens of thousands of fibres, braided into ribbons, drift across the screen and catch the light. Move a cursor or a finger through them and they part.
- Scroll, and the silk is drawn in and winds round an unseen shape. The flacon forms inside it, base first; then the silk unwinds and falls back behind the product.
- The glass is real-time: it refracts the silk behind it, and the liquid shimmers in the same colours.
The scene steps down on slower devices, and anyone who prefers reduced motion gets the same page as still frames.
Delivered
A one-page launch site with the story, the product, its notes and a pre-order call to action, which here explains that Nacre is a concept and invites a brief.
